Based on simple observations and things that make her smile, children’s book illustrator Tamar Nahir-Yanai partnered with DMC to create childhood-themed needlework kits including Girl in the Red Dress. The bright pinks and greens stitch up quickly on the 10” x 10”printed fabric. The Girl in the Red Dress kit includes pre-printed cotton sail cloth, DMC Embroidery Floss, embroidery needle, and illustrated stitch guide.
The DMC Tamar Needlework collection has nine dreamy designs including five embroidery, two large embroidery, and two cross stitch kits.
Care & Washing
Pre-rinse under cold running water. Mix a small amount of mild detergent or dish washing liquid into warm water. Gently squeeze the liquid through the fabric several times. Do not use specially formulated wool wash, harsh detergents, or bleach. Rinse several times in cold water until the water runs clear.
Roll between two clean towels and squeeze gently without wringing. Do not allow the embroidery to touch itself as colors may bleed into one another. Unroll the towels and spread your needlework flat to dry on a new fresh towel or drying rack. Let it air dry until it is just lightly damp so that it can be ironed.
To iron, place the piece face down between two clean towels (the towels will protect your stitches from being crushed) and press lightly with a warm, not hot, iron. To remove creases or fold lines, use the steam setting on your iron but be careful not to use too much as some colors have a tendency to run.
By keeping your hands and work area clean while you're stitching, your pieces should remain in good condition and not need any type of cleaning.
